Offshore Oil and Gas digitalisation software provider Eigen, has delivered a new version of the Barrier Status Panel with Lundin Energy Norway on its Edvard Grieg asset.
With new Industry 4.0 capabilities, the update adds a new context to the panel, with additional displays and data sources that update in real time, based on offshore oil and gas equipment status.
The new phase of the solution is part of an ongoing digitalisation program to improve workflow efficiencies, prioritisation and asset integrity, while eliminating potentially wasted time taken to understand risk status.
Now the most comprehensive Safety Barrier Management solution on the Norwegian Continental shelf, the system is in full production as an upgrade to Lundin’s existing soft-ware.
The system has been extended to include data from live event sources such as inhibits and device alerts and this is combined with contextual and other information such as work orders and risk assessments and presents it in an easy to understand format. The status is shown from multiple different perspectives to suit the diverse audience that needs to understand and act on the information. Users can move from a high level overview right down to the individual data points in the source systems.
The upgrade extends Eigen’s partnership with Lundin that has so far delivered many digital improvements including live operations and drilling dashboards, contextualized search across multiple systems, real-time visibility of people offshore, two mobile apps, a digital meetings and reports facility.
“This project is a perfect example of pragmatic digital transformation and how you can end up solving very complicated problems when you go step by step,” said, Murray Call-ander, CEO, Eigen. ”It’s great to see companies like Lundin continuing to invest in tech-nology to support their staff within a challenging economic climate”.
Ellen Kristine Ombler, Project Manager, Lundin Operations , said, “We are delighted to add this new capability to our digital portfolio. Live visibility of Safety Barrier status is essential to safe and efficient operations and we are very pleased to be at the forefront of innovation in this area.”.
